The Russian film “Country Sasha” by Yulia Trofimova was shown at the Berlinale

The world premiere of the debut picture “Country Sasha” starring Maria Matsel took place in the Generation 14plus program of the Berlin International Film Festival.

The script is based on Uzryutova's book "Country Sasha" and was co-authored by director Yulia Trofimova, as well as Maria Shulgina and Elizaveta Tikhonova. According to the story, 18-year-old Sasha cannot decide where to go after school, and his mother considers his love for drawing to be frivolous. The life of a young man is also complicated by a meeting with his father, whom he has not seen since early childhood. Growing up Sasha helps acquaintance with an unusual girl Zhenya.

The project was created by the film company "Vega Film" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Kinoprime Foundation. The producers were Katerina Mikhailova and Konstantin Fam.
